This map has a special story both relating to the donators and the history of the map.

In 2014 Akureyri Municipality received a unique collection of antique maps of Iceland made by Europe’s renowned mapmakers at the time. The donors were a German couple dr. Karl-Werner Schulte (1946) and dr. Gisela Schulte-Daxbök (1952-2019). Their life was interwoven these maps that filled their home.
